Lately the Content Management System that is used for www.mquip.co.uk has been subject to some security flaws that have been detected and exploited by online low-lifes. Unfortunately, Motorquip’s website is not the only one to have been subject to these attacks. We are working hard to prevent these attacks, with extra patches on our server to make sure that these attempts stop. The main idea of these viruses is to disrupt the level of service that is offered from a website, and to take your credit card details from online transaction on this website. Luckily we do not sell products on this website, it is purely information. If you have any queries please email webmaster@mquip.co.uk with details. To ensure constant online security, you should have an up-to-date virus scanner, we recommend AVG or Avast! but of course there are many more antivirus tools out there

Thanks
Jamie

I have just replaced a faulty alarm on a motorbike, I have removed a few faulty alarms before but this is the first one I have fitted! I used a Laserline motorcycle alarm and was very pleased with its spec and fitment instructions. They come either as a vertical mount of horizontal and the wiring loom is entirely black so getting around it will be quite difficult, it has a built in battery in the siren unit so even if they cut all the wires it will still sound and is very loud!

Spring is in the air and so the Air Conditioning season has arrived.

The big green machine I us has been serviced and polished up ready to get your Air Conditioning back up to its best performance.

A basic recharge ( like kwik fit and the like do) will be £50 inc. vat.

A complete service, belt tension, pipework and condensor inspection and a check on the cabin pollen filter ( if applicable – some cars don’t have one!) will be £65 inc. vat. plus the cost of the polen filter ( usually between £10 and £20 pounds).

I can also trace & repair leaks and faults with the air con system but if the fault lies with the control side most of the time I have to refer you to the main dealer as many are computer controlled. Failed air con compressors, leaking air con condensors or pipes or evaporators I can deal with.

All air con systems leak ( even Rolls Royces!) and natural leaks which take more than 3 years to make the air con inoperative are not really a problem, they normally show up as a reduction in the cooling capability of the system over a period of time then the air con looses so much pressure that the system shuts its self down completely.

Just a note about opening times. 10am to 5pm on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is late opening until 7pm. Saturday I open from 10am till 4pm. Sundays and Mondays are my weekend!

I have just got a new product in from VEBA, they make great dvd screens, cameras and standalone DVD players, it is a flip screen DVD player with bluetooth and completes well on specification and price with the Halfords branded Ripspeed product.

Priced at £250 inc vat they are very good for entertainment, pairing your phone so you can make handsfree calls, streaming music by bluetooth and will show a reversing camera if fitted.

I have one on live display so bring down your phone and your ipod ( inc usb lead) and try one out!

The similar product by the major brands, Kenwood Pioneer etc would cost nearly £600!

Tracking your company vehicles is a bit like having someone you can totally trust sat in the passenger seat!

Trackers use GPS ( just like a sat nav) and a sim card ( just like a mobile) to tell you where and when your vehicle is being driven. Normal costs are around the £300 mark to supply install and commission the unit ( Which can be done without the drivers knowledge if you choose) and an annual contract for the sim card and the call centre who administrate the tracker and contact the police if the vehicle is stolen. The contract is usually around the £160 mark.

Neattrack do provide this service as do Cobra and we fit both if you need an insurance approved tracker.

But Neattrack also supply a Pay as Go tracker which does not use a contract sim card or a call centre, you can see where the vehicle is every 5 mins on your own PC with the software supplied. The cost is dramatically reduced to around £20 per year!!!!!

I fitted the first commercially sold unit a few weeks ago and you can see a demo car in action on my desktop PC in the shop.

AFFORDABLE TRACKING FOR CARS VANS PLANT in fact anything with a 12v supply and somewhere to hide the very small unit and aerial!
